The Central Texas Health and Wellbeing Network and HEAL Alliance are proud to announce the launch of the Transformative Rural Leadership Institute! This opportunity is the culmination of five years of the community building efforts by the Central Texas Network Weavers, which have been encouraged and supported by the St. David’s Foundation.
What is The Central Texas
Health & Wellbeing Network?
Our mission is to enhance the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of residents in our region, with a focus on supporting communities of color and vulnerable populations. We are dedicated to creating equitable opportunities for individuals and families to thrive, empowering them to lead in addressing the challenges they face.
Our approach is rooted in the values of CONNECT, LEARN, and GROW. These principles guide how we build and sustain a network of support that remains healthy and vibrant.
Together, we can create a healthier, more equitable future for all.
The Institute is dedicated to providing equity-based support to 10 community leaders in Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, and Williamson counties. This course is set to begin January 2025 and will meet monthly until May 2025. We invite current and future leaders with a desire to create belonging-focused systems of equity in their communities to apply for the 2025 inaugural Institute cohort. The deadline to apply is December 31, 2024.
The Institute curriculum will be rooted in three fundamental understandings:
Transform
Historically-excluded community voices must be heard and valued at every level of organizational and societal decision-making
Elevate
True social change can only occur when leaders are grounded in self-awareness, curiosity, humility, and a commitment to listening to diverse voices;
Collaborate
No one individual can do it alone.
Join Us!
Monthly gatherings will cover topics including: network mapping, restorative justice and healing-centered facilitation, storytelling for social change, liberatory practices for community organizing, policy advocacy, civic engagement, intersectionality, and power dynamics.
These curricular topics will provide a comprehensive framework for building the capacity of community leaders, movement builders, organizers, and network weavers, and will address both the practical skills and theoretical foundations essential for effective leadership development and social change. Each participant will receive June Holley’s Network Weaver Handbook to supplement their learning.
We invite current and future leaders with a desire to create belonging-focused systems of equity in their communities to apply for the 2025 inaugural Institute cohort. The deadline to apply is December 31, 2024.
